2.Utah specializes in "milk and cookie" parties!!!!

You forgot how tolerant we are of those who are negative and can't recognize good even when they are living right in the heart of it. Like I asked before, if you hate it here so much, why stay? It says something about you as a person.
You'd better get to Smith's in a hurry. I think they are having a big sale on those sour grapes you consume all the time.

other than the high taxes and the influence the LDS church has on the government, i love living in utah!
i can't think of a better place to raise kids, but the classrooms are too crowded.
you can have all 4 seasons in one day if you drive far enough.
the mountains are the best and southern utah has some of the prettiest scenery anywhere.

High taxes? Please! The LDS church should have that much influence on the government in Washington D.C. and maybe we could all sleep better and we certainly would have pride in our country again.

Shadow,
I for one love "milk & cookie parties!"
If Utah really is such a seething cauldron of horrible, rotten things, I would question you as to why you'd want to live in such a place.
No one is forcing you to live here. If you don't like it, then move somewhere else. Move to Sodom & Gomorrah if you'd feel more at home there.

why should the LDS church be singled out to have any influence on our government? what makes them so much better than say catholics? or any other religion? what does religion have to do with having pride in our country? can't a non-religious person have pride in our country?
and as far as saying "if you don't like it here, move"..... if you would read what i wrote instead of putting words in my post, you would notice i said "i love living in utah". doesn't it get lonely living so high upon that pedestal?
sorry, but thats how you make me feel!

Casper;
As I read the comments between you and Jode, I understood her response to be directed at SHADOW and not you. In fact, as I looked at the thread started by Shadow and the title that he has given it, the same thought ran through my mind, if it is so bad here in Utah, why stay? I am here by choice. My job doesn't require me to be here. I have no other family living in the state. I am here because I find it a pretty great place to live, as do you I believe. So, the question for Shadow yet remains unanswered, "Why not catch the next Greyhound Bus outta here?" They leave from McDonalds (as if you didn't already know that!). Vegas is full of employment opportunities as are casinos in the East. I'm sure that a man of your talent and ability would have no problem finding a job in an area free of the religious persecution that you certainly must feel here in Utah. I'll even buy you a Big Mac to feed your family as the bus pulls out of town and fades off into the sunset. What do you say?

casper,
I hope that your post was not referring to me. I do not set myself on a "pedestal."
I simply believe that their are some moral absolutes. Right and wrong are not determined by committee. They are eternal, unchangeable truths.

Children, please!!!
Is everyone here really so desparate for a conversation that it has to take this tone?
Casper, no one makes you feel anything; you choose to feel how you feel.
Shadow is a person who thrives on conflict. Why must we endulge his addiction? Forget the poor fool.
Everyone else, let's move on!
Respectfully,
Fred

Good point! I can ignore the fool as well as the next man (I think). I will give it my best effort as of 6/24 at 2:04 p.m. (I wonder how long I can keep this challenge) One, two, three, four .........................
